Some handy hints for DALI installers are listed below
The DALI devices on a network will respond to DALI broadcast commands without commissioning, allowing for out of the box control of the DALI Devices
Each DALI device on a network requires an address to respond to individual commands. To address a DALI device an installer will require a DALI addressing tool, Please contact Spire Lighting for more information on the DALI addressing tool
The DALI standard allows for two forms of addressing - physical addressing and random addressing.
Physical addressing - requires the installer to physically inspect each device to allocate an address.
Random addressing - involves the automatic assignment of random addresses to each DALI device on the network. After the addresses have been assigned, the installer can reassign addresses to the devices via the DALI addressing tool.
During the commissioning stage the installer can set up the following: groups, scenes, min and max levels, power on levels, system failure level, fade rate and fade time for each device.
